Where yogic tradition meets modern science

  • Therapeutic yoga offers a holistic approach to healing—integrating movement, breathwork, and meditation. It’s where ancient yogic wisdom meets modern movement science, neuroscience, and biomechanics to support the body and mind in their natural process of restoration and resilience.

Whether you're navigating recovery from acute trauma, preparing for or healing after surgery, or seeking to maintain mobility and balance as you age, therapeutic yoga can provide tailored, mindful support.

This practice is especially beneficial for those looking to:

    • Enhance joint mobility

    • Support fascia health and fluidity

    • Promote injury prevention

    • Manage chronic pain conditions

    • Regain range of motion after injury or surgery

    • Rebuild strength post-op

    • Maintain and improve balance and coordination

    • Improve neuromuscular control, motor patterns, and proprioception

    • Increase functional strength through full, pain-free ranges of motion

    • Reduce joint discomfort and minimize the risk of future injury

    Therapeutic Yoga or Physical therapy?

Therapeutic yoga is a holistic, accessible, and cost-effective complement to physical therapy—or a stand-alone approach, depending on the specific health concerns and needs of the individual.

Unlike conventional physical therapy, therapeutic yoga supports healing through a biopsychosocial lens, taking into account not just the body, but also one’s life stage, seasonal rhythms, daily routines, physical conditioning, and cultural context. This integrative approach aims to support the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—through personalized movement, breathwork, and mindfulness-based practices, to help regulate the nervous system, promote healing, and restore a sense of connection within.

  • Looking to bring more harmony, balance, and well-being into your daily life? Ayurveda—the ancient science of life—offers a powerful framework to help you reconnect with your body’s natural rhythms.

Rooted in over 5,000 years of wisdom, Ayurveda is a holistic healing system from India that views health as a dynamic balance between the body, mind, spirit, and environment. Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, Ayurveda invites us to understand our unique constitution (dosha) and to make choices that support our natural state of balance.

    Why Integrate Ayurveda?

Modern life often pulls us out of sync—physically, mentally, and emotionally. Ayurveda helps us return to center by guiding us to:

    • Eat in harmony with the seasons and our unique body type

    • Create daily rhythms that support digestion, sleep, and energy

    • Understand imbalances early and make subtle adjustments

    • Live with greater awareness and intention

    What Does Integration Look Like?

Integration is about making Ayurveda approachable and practical in your daily life. You don’t have to overhaul everything at once. Small, consistent shifts can lead to powerful results.

    Support may include:

    • Seasonal Ayurvedic practices to align with nature’s cycles

    • Daily routine guidance (Dinacharya) to anchor your day with intention

    • Movement, sleep, and self-care practices customized to your constitution

    • Simple dietary suggestions to support digestion and vitality

Whether you’re just beginning your Ayurvedic journey or looking to deepen an existing practice, we’ll work together to create sustainable rituals that fit your lifestyle.

  • Life is inherently sacred. When we commit to a daily practice of movement, breath, and meditation, we begin to tap into our innate capacity for transformative change. Over time, this practice expands our ability to stay present and grounded—widening the bandwidth of tolerance that allows us to embody the sacred in everyday life.

As we deepen our dedication, shifts begin to unfold—first in our physical, emotional, and mental bodies, and then radiating outward into our relationships, choices, and overall well-being. These shifts are not just personal—they are radical, they are revolutionary, and they have the power to change trajectories.

Why Develop a Daily Yoga Practice?

Integrating yoga into your daily self-care routine offers powerful tools to support your whole being. With consistent practice, yoga can help to:

    • Decrease anxiety and regulate mood

    • Increase daily well-being, clarity, and joy

    • Support both the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems

    • Improve vagal tone and support digestion, blood pressure, and cardiovascular health

    • Promote healthy lymphatic circulation and overall vitality

Looking for guidance in developing a sustainable daily yoga practice? Let’s work together to create a routine that meets you where you are and supports where you want to grow.

    Support may include:

    • Customized asana practices tailored just for you and your schedule

    • Breathwork tools for proactive regulation of your nervous system

    • Meditation and mindfulness practices

    • Yoga Nidra and Restorative yoga for nervous system regulation

    • Mantra & chanting

Praise

“After a traumatic crush injury, working one-on-one with Heather made all the difference. Her understanding of anatomy meant every virtual session was tailored to what my body needed that day. As I got stronger and more flexible, she adjusted our focus, helping me release old trauma and rebuild nervous system resilience. The individual attention was invaluable. Thanks to Heather, I just spent a dream vacation in Europe—climbing ancient stairs, walking cobblestones, and even logging five miles my first night in Rome.”

- K. Hayes, Mill Valley California

“I have practiced yoga for almost fifteen years with at least that many teachers during that time.  However, I can honestly say that Heather is one of the best! I am impressed by Heather’s versatility and breadth of knowledge about the body and how yoga poses impact it. I have participated twice weekly in her gentle yoga class for about four years and recently participated in individual 1:1 sessions for strength and stability. Her ability to design a practice and to adjust her plans at the last minute to perfectly suit my needs is mind boggling.

The individual sessions on strength and stability were designed based on my needs and ability. What amazed me was how she remembered everything we did during each session to produce a personalized video that I can easily access to practice whenever I want. When I use the video, I feel like she is in the room with me and instructing me in person.

Heather is truly an amazing, skilled, knowledgeable, and versatile teacher!  I am fortunate to have the opportunity to work with her!”

- B. Mayer, Portland Oregon

“Heather is truly amazing.  I've had the pleasure of working with Heather in a class setting for over 7 years, but my 1:1 sessions with her are where I feel safe and secure; working on the things that benefit my mind, my body and my spirit. Heather takes a personal interest in each student and supports them on their own personal journey.  I've laughed and I've cried with her, with no personal judgement; only compassion.  Heather meets each student where they are and works with them to develop a practice that strengthens their body and feeds their spirit.”

- J. Bain, Portland Oregon
