Where yogic tradition meets modern science
Modalities In Motion - Movement Therapy offers a holistic approach to healing. It’s where ancient yogic wisdom meets modern movement science, neuroscience, and biomechanics to support the body and mind in their natural process of restoration and resilience.
Whether you're navigating recovery from acute trauma, preparing for or healing after surgery, or seeking to maintain mobility and balance as you age, Modalities In Motion - Movement Therapy can provide tailored, mindful support.
This work might be a fit if one or more of these is true for you…
You’re active but everything feels a little tighter than it used to.
Mobility and ease
-
You’re reasonably active, you love staying engaged with life, and you want your body to keep up. But stiffness is creeping in — hips, back, balance on uneven ground. You’re not ‘injured’… but something feels off.
You want:
More ease and mobility
Confidence with balance
A gentle approach that respects your nervous system
A personalized plan — not a fast-paced class
-
You’re really longing to feel spacious, grounded, and vibrant in your body as you move into this next phase of life.
-
Mobility and Ease sessions focus on improving joint mobility, reducing chronic tension, and restoring natural movement patterns through somatic awareness and gentle functional mobility. Ideal if traditional yoga or fitness classes feel too fast or too forceful. You’ll gain confidence, spaciousness, and ease in your daily movement.

longevity & bone health
-
You’re proactive. Motivated. You take your health seriously. Maybe you’ve been told you have osteopenia. Maybe balance feels less sharp. Group classes feel too generic. You want personalized guidance rooted in science, somatics, and nervous system wisdom.
You want to:
Maintain bone density
Build gentle functional strength
Prevent decline and falls
Feel grounded, stable, and in harmony with your body
-
You’re seeking a trusted partner who meets you where you are — and helps you feel confident for the long run.
-
Longevity & Bone Health is a personalized program that includes mindful strength-building, balance training, gait awareness, and somatic practices to help you feel grounded and stable. You’ll learn movements that support bone health, reduce fall risk, and bring a sense of harmony between your changing body and your daily life.

You’re rebuilding after an injury, but still don’t feel quite like yourself.
post-injury rebuilding
-
Maybe it was a knee, hip, or back injury. PT helped, but not enough. You’re still guarding, compensating, or hesitating. And you’re worried about re-injuring yourself. You don’t want a class that pushes you — or another rushed, task-focused appointment.
You want:
Gentle, smart, whole-body movement
Somatic support to release bracing and fear
Nervous system regulation to rebuild trust
Slow, steady progress that feels safe
-
You’re truly hoping to feel capable again — to move with confidence, strength, and ease
-
Post-Injury Rebuilding sessions blend functional movement retraining, somatic re-education, and nervous system regulation to help you rebuild trust in your body safely and steadily. Perfect for those who feel they didn’t “fully bounce back” after PT or want deeper support beyond the injury site.

“After a traumatic crush injury, working one-on-one with Heather made all the difference. Her understanding of anatomy meant every virtual session was tailored to what my body needed that day. As I got stronger and more flexible, she adjusted our focus, helping me release old trauma and rebuild nervous system resilience. The individual attention was invaluable. Thanks to Heather, I just spent a dream vacation in Europe—climbing ancient stairs, walking cobblestones, and even logging five miles my first night in Rome.”
- K. Hayes, Mill Valley California
“I have practiced yoga for almost fifteen years with at least that many teachers during that time. However, I can honestly say that Heather is one of the best! I am impressed by Heather’s versatility and breadth of knowledge about the body and how yoga poses impact it. I have participated twice weekly in her gentle yoga class for about four years and recently participated in individual 1:1 sessions for strength and stability. Her ability to design a practice and to adjust her plans at the last minute to perfectly suit my needs is mind boggling.
The individual sessions on strength and stability were designed based on my needs and ability. What amazed me was how she remembered everything we did during each session to produce a personalized video that I can easily access to practice whenever I want. When I use the video, I feel like she is in the room with me and instructing me in person.
Heather is truly an amazing, skilled, knowledgeable, and versatile teacher! I am fortunate to have the opportunity to work with her!”

“Heather is truly amazing. I've had the pleasure of working with Heather in a class setting for over 7 years, but my 1:1 sessions with her are where I feel safe and secure; working on the things that benefit my mind, my body and my spirit. Heather takes a personal interest in each student and supports them on their own personal journey. I've laughed and I've cried with her, with no personal judgement; only compassion. Heather meets each student where they are and works with them to develop a practice that strengthens their body and feeds their spirit.”
