Breitenbush Hot Springs

June 6 - 9 | 2024

Registration Opens January 6th

Ayurveda teaches us that what is within is without, and what is without is within. Simply put, what we cultivate within our own internal landscapes is ultimately what we express into our external landscapes, and vice versa. The natural world (that is to say the entire world) teaches us that all ecosystems, from the micro to the macro, require balance to thrive. Yet daily, we face the challenging task of navigating a world that is increasingly out of balance and this is leaving many of us with a chronic sense of fatigue, overwhelm, and fragmentation, making it hard to cultivate the energy required to show up for ourselves, for our loved ones, and for our communities.

This summer join Danielle Clothier and myself at Breitenbush Hot Springs, as we soak, steam, and plunge ourselves into a long, regenerative, weekend retreat... all the while immersing ourselves in the healing practices of restorative yoga.

Rest and Digest:

The Replenishing Practice of Restorative Yoga.

June 6th - 9th | 2024

Restorative yoga is, at its heart, a self-care practice designed to stimulate the relaxation response within the brain and body. This gentle practice aids us in releasing unnecessary tension by inducing the deep rest and digest state attributed to the parasympathetic nervous system. Open to yoga teachers, care-givers, healthcare providers, social justice workers, and curious practitioners alike, this four day, 3 night 'deep-dive' into the replenishing practices of restorative yoga, will guide you

  • in the fundamentals of ‘how’ to set up and sequence the foundational poses of a restorative yoga practice.

  • in an exploration of modifications, benefits, contraindications and prop set-up for each of the foundational poses.

  • to work 1:1 with their cohorts to practice the art of nurturing, supporting, receiving, and holding space for one another, including recognizing discomfort and when and how to apply prop modifications to support a diverse range of body types.

  • in an exploration of breathing techniques that support the relaxation response.

  • in group discourse aimed at integrating deeper insight into to how our nervous systems work, how the parasympathetic nervous system functions as stress management, and how the physiology of stress impacts the endocrine system.

The challenges that lie before us as a species demand new approaches to how we lead ourselves and others. Together, let’s explore a return to center, to wholeness, to balance. And let’s create the change we want (and need) to see in the world.

***This workshop is YACEP certified and can be used for 10-hrs of CE for Yoga Alliance certified yoga teachers

A 2-day mini-immersion workshop in Portland

The concept of health goes far beyond the absence of disease - it’s about feeling balanced and nourished in all areas of our lives - a holistic state of mental, physical, and social wellbeing. Yet many of us find ourselves coping with the daily task of navigating devitalizing chronic stress.

The physiology of chronic stress has implications and ramifications on all areas of our lives and our health, from our sleep patterns, to our ability to digest, to our capacity for joyful engagement in our lives. The good news is, how we choose to respond to stress can greatly alter the impact that stress has on us. Learning to implement positive coping strategies can lead to resilience and the building up of resources for handling future stress in more adaptive ways.

This workshop is designed to support you in the practical integration of stress management strategies. Because we all react differently to stress, it’s important to develop stress relief plans that work best for each of us. Through deep self inquiry, interspersed with lecture, journaling, and group discussion, we will take a closer look at the current stressors in each of our lives in order to define short-term and long-term strategies for stress reduction. Through mini practices designed to integrate the material, we will explore ‘how’ yoga works to support us in managing stress, including the implementation of breathwork, asana, and simple mindful meditation interventions.

Together we’ll embark on a journey of discovery and insight that will culminate in the creation of personal action plans for stress relief, bringing clarity, stability, and heart back to the center of our daily lives.

2nd Annual women’s yoga and hiking retreat

September 12 - 15 | 2024

Registration Opens March 15

Join the Circle of sisterhood….

Join me, September 12th - 15th, for a long-weekend retreat in the Cascade Mountains of Central Washington…

Our 4-day 3-night, 2nd Annual Women’s Yoga and Hiking Retreat, will be held again this year at Snowgrass Lodge, outside of the Bavarian-styled mountain town of Leavenworth, Washington. Nestled between the Cascade Mountains and the Wenatchee River, Snowgrass Lodge offers us a tranquil setting in which to gather and reconnect; to ourselves, to each other, and to the healing modality inherent in our natural world.

This gathering seeks to offer a space for women to come together to reconnect to the power that is inherent in supportive sisterhood. We use an inclusive definition of “woman” and “female” and we welcome trans women, genderqueer women, and non-binary people who are significantly female-identified. Attendees only need to identify as women in a way that’s significant to them. Together we’ll restore over the long weekend with gentle yoga, beautiful accessible day hikes, circle ceremonies, and plenty of time to enjoy hot-tubbing, the river, reading, napping, and reconnecting.
